Las Vegas Justice Court: Now Live for Criminal Subsequent Filings

Las Vegas Justice Court is now accepting criminal subsequent filings including motions, setting slips, notices, proof of requirements and other filings not requiring a Judicial Officer's initial review and signature.  Filings that initiate a case or require a Judicial Officer's initial review and signature are not being accepted and must be filed using the traditional filing practices of the Criminal Division.  Filers must ensure Service Contacts are added as necessary or include language within the document being electronically filed regarding the appropriate party being served when applicable. 

 

Effective October 2, 2019 for the Eighth Judicial District Court: Please see the linked Administrative Order here for important information regarding electronic filing. To resubmit any nonconforming documents, please use **CONFILE Conforming Filing.

 

NOTE: All filings requesting hearings to be heard by the Discovery Commissioner must be marked "To be Heard by Discovery Commissioner", otherwise they will be set in front of the Department.

 

Effective March 4, 2019 for the Eighth Judicial District Court: In accordance with Rule 8(a) of the Nevada Supreme Court Electronic Filing Rules all Electronic Filings shall be automatically accepted (filed into the Case Management System) except for the filings defined here. Once an envelope has been submitted, it cannot be cancelled by the filer.

 

For new Family Court filings, please allow the Court 24 hours to provide notice of any change in case assignment in compliance with EDCR 5.103.

Effective June 11, 2018 for The Eighth Judicial District Court: Arbitration documents may be efiled through File & Serve. Effective June 25, 2018, Arbitration filings will no longer be accepted over the counter at the ADR office and must be electronically filed.

Effective June 4, 2018 for The Eighth Judicial District Court: Electronic Service via File & Serve will be effectuated upon submission. This is a departure from the current procedure of serving filings at the time of court acceptance.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2017 NRS 4.060 increases the Civil action jurisdiction from $10,000 to $15,000 for Las Vegas and Reno Justice Courts. The Las Vegas Justice court filing fee will be $274 and Reno Justice Court filing fee will be $271 for civil actions filed between $10,000.01 and $15,000.00.

If you were a user of the Wiznet application, you will need to register a new account. You will be unable to sign-in with your wiznet credentials. If you are not an attorney, nor filing on behalf of an attorney or law firm you will need to register your account as an individual account (ex: process servers; property management).
