The Judiciary became aware on January 12th of an
issue whereby civil efilers may inadvertently be charged the efiling use fee
twice on civil cases filed after mid-December 2021. This means that a subsequent
filing on a new case filed on or after December 10th could be charged the
efiling use fee again. If this happens, please submit a request for refund with
the envelope numbers to efilesupport@vtcourts.gov. We are working to resolve
this problem as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience
Attorney Filers Please Read: After you create an
attorney licensing portal account, it creates a 2nd File and Serve Account.
Please make sure to log into OFS with your professional credentials, not your personal
licensing credentials.
Starting April 1, 2021,
there will be a new efiling use fee structure for
users of Odyssey File & Serve (OFS). The new per case fee is $14 per filer
or firm, payable upon a party's first filing. This replaces the
previous $5.25 fee per envelope model. Convenience fees remain in place with a
2.89% processing fee for credit card payments and $1.00 per case for eCheck
payments. Many exemptions to these fees remain in place, and those who are
exempt should utilize a waiver account when filing through OFS. The Judiciary
encourages all practitioners and others interested to visit the Judiciary's
website at www.vermontjudiciary.org/efiling.
