Effective May 1, the name search function will no longer be available for Summary Process cases. Users can learn how to find their docket number here.

Pursuant to Chapter 9 of the Acts of 2025, the Gardner District Court and Winchendon District Court have now been consolidated into one court – the Gardner District Court. The towns previously served by the Winchendon District Court are now served by the Gardner District Court. As of December 29, 2025, new cases may not be filed in the Winchendon District Court. Instead, they should be filed in the Gardner District Court. Filings may continue to be made into existing Winchendon cases until they are finally disposed. Please contact the Gardner District Court Clerk’s Office with any questions at (978) 632-2373.

Effective immediately, all Summonses and Complaints in non-payment of rent Summary Process cases must include a statement confirming that the plaintiff “has not received notice that the defendant is an impacted federal worker” and “that the defendant is not an impacted federal worker.” Clerks’ Offices are required to reject for filing any Summons and Complaint in a non-payment of rent Summary Process case that does not contain this statement. This change follows legislation signed into law by Governor Healey on November 25, 2025 (see St. 2025, c. 73, s. 54) and is in effect through January 26, 2026. The Trial Court will update the Summary Process Summons and Complaint to reflect the new law, but plaintiffs may also hand-write or type the required certification.
