About Review Release Score Back to Version Update Notes

At Tyler Technologies, we care deeply about the quality of the software we provide to our clients and customers. One of the ways we are continuing to improve the quality of our releases is by evaluating each software release to measure how it performs. Each release is objectively measured against a consistent set of criteria to determine the release score. The release score is calculated by taking into consideration both the improvements that were introduced with a release, as well as the issues (bugs) that are identified. By scoring each of our releases, we will have a historical view of our performance over time and use this as another tool to help us continue to improve our quality.

How Releases are Scored:

Improvements and issues have different weighted values, depending on the feature/bug type and impact. For example, an issue that a client locates on a stage environment and Tyler fixes before it progresses into production is weighted less than an issue that a client finds in a production environment. Below are the details of how the score is calculated:

Score = (Gain + Loss)/Gain

Here's an example of the release score calculation for the Review application:

Score = (Gain + Loss)/Gain

(106-12)/106= .887

We are still piloting the release score calculation system and will be brainstorming future improvements to increase this tool's accuracy.

Thank you for being a valued client.
